2011 Symposium and Summer School on Wireless Communications June 1-3, 2011 Sponsored by: Wireless at Virginia Tech, Continuing and Professional Education, and the following Industrial Affiliate Companies: APPLIED SIGNAL TECHNOLOGY • HARRIS CORPORATION L-3 COMMUNICATIONS • SAMSUNG • SRC, INC. • TELCORDIA TECHNOLOGIES THALES COMMUNICATIONS • ZETA ASSOCIATES On June 1-3, 2011, Wireless @ Virginia Tech will host its annual symposium and summer school on wireless communications on the Virginia Tech campus in Blacksburg, VA. Both university and industry partners will present oral presentations, poster sessions, and tutorials. The tutorial schedule will include 10-12 tutorials on a wide spectrum of wireless communication technologies. Authors are invited to submit abstracts for oral presentations and tutorials. Papers not accepted as oral presen- tations may be accepted as poster presentations. Abstracts for oral presentations should describe original work, and propos- als for tutorials should include a description of the tutorial and material to be distributed to participants. The following topics or related areas will be considered for presentation: Antennas and Propagation Channel Measurements Channel Modeling Cognitive Radio/Networks Collaborative Radio Cross Layer Optimization Femtocell Deployment Game Theory Analysis Hybrid Wireless/Fiber Optic/Powerline Systems Interference Cancellation Land Mobile Radio MEMS MIMO Network Protocol Design Networking Position Location Radio Resource Management Reconfigurable Computing RF Circuit Design RF Material-Characterization RF Systems Satellite Systems Security Sensor Networking Simulation Tools Smart Antennas and Diversity Schemes Software Radio UWB VLSI Implementation Wearable Computing and Communications Abstracts and tutorial proposals should be limited to 500 words. They must be submitted electronically and must include the title, author’s name, mailing address, email address, and telephone number. Symposium information, including the author’s kit, will be posted to the web site at www.wireless.vt.edu as plans are finalized.
