ABOUT PDADS
===========
Welcome to the First International Workshop on Parallel and Distributed Algorithms for Decision Sciences (PDADS), 2021. The goal of this workshop is to create a forum for scientists, engineers and practitioners to share new results and collaborate on ideas at the intersection of parallel and distributed algorithms, decision sciences and combinatorial optimization. There is a growing recognition that a variety of science and engineering use-cases can benefit from parallel and distributed optimization frameworks that can deliver real-time decision-making capabilities. Especially in this age of ever-increasing powerful computing technologies, optimization-driven decision science problems that were otherwise considered computationally prohibitive for integration within scientific and engineering applications, especially those needing real-time decision-making capabilities, are now becoming possible. This workshop will focus on the theory, design, development and deployment of parallel and distributed algorithms for faster and more accurate solutions of different types of optimization problems that arise within the broader purview of the decision sciences.

CALL FOR PAPERS
===============
PDADS 2021 will focus on research at the intersection of parallel and distributed algorithms, decision sciences and combinatorial optimization. The workshop will discuss latest trends and identify technology gaps in high-performance decision sciences and combinatorial optimization technologies for extant and next-generation scientific, engineering and other applications. The workshop adopts an inclusive definition of the sciences that includes the social sciences, behavioral sciences or others.

Both regular papers as well as short position papers describing work-in-progress with innovative ideas related to the workshop topics are being solicited. Accepted papers will be published by ACM ICPS in a workshop proceedings volume available for download from the ACM digital library. For paper submission guidelines, visit: https://www.csm.ornl.gov/workshops/PDADS/submission.html

MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
================================
This workshop is soliciting regular papers as well as short position papers describing work-in-progress with innovative ideas related to the workshop topics. Submitted papers must represent original unpublished research that is not currently under review for any other conference or journal. At least one author of each paper must be registered for the workshop in order for the paper to be published in the proceedings. Presentation of an accepted paper at the workshop is a requirement of publication.

* Abstracts of at most 500 words for both regular and short papers must be submitted by May 24, 2021. Abstracts should be sufficiently expressive to enable identification of appropriate reviewers. Papers with placeholder abstracts or abstracts that are insufficient to judge which expertise is needed to review the full paper may be desk rejected.
* Full manuscripts must be submitted by May 31, 2021. Note that this is a hard deadline without exception.
* Submitted regular papers may not exceed eight (8) single-spaced double-column pages using 10-point size font on 8.5x11 inch pages (ACM conference style), including figures, tables, and references. Submitted manuscripts should include author names and affiliations.
* Submitted short papers may not exceed five (5) single-spaced double-column pages using 10-point size font on 8.5x11 inch pages (ACM conference style), including figures, tables, and references. Submitted manuscripts should include author names and affiliations.
* ACM templates to prepare the submissions can be found at https://www.acm.org/publications/proceedings-template.
* Electronic submissions must be in the form of a readable PDF file.

The paper submission online system is: https://ssl.linklings.net/conferences/icpp/

First time users will have to create an account. Submitters will then be presented a menu to select the role in the top left. Select Submitter. In the next page, select the tab “Make a New Submission” and choose PDADS Workshop to upload your manuscript.
