Call For Papers

IX International Workshop of Free Software

The University of Informatics Sciences (UCI) invites professionals linked to research and development activities in the field of Free Software to participate in the IX International Free Software Workshop, to be held at the Hotel Nacional, Havana, Cuba, from 5 to 7 October 2021, as part of the IV International Scientific Conference UCIENCIA 2021. In this edition, besides keeping its face-to-face format, the Organizing Committee has decided to include a virtual modality. .

With the aim of fostering a space for scientific and technical exchange of experiences and research on migration to Open Source applications and on the construction and customization of open source operating systems, the following topics are proposed:

Implementation of free technologies in the public and private sector

Building / customizing open source operating systems

PAPERS STYLE GUIDELINES

Contributions in Spanish will be accepted, of no more than 10 pages, including illustrations, results, tables and references. The documents may be written using Microsoft Office Word, Open\Libre Office Writer or Latex, following the style guidelines of the Cuban Journal of Computer Science (RCCI).

PROCESS OF REVIEW AND PAPERS RECEPTION

Authors will be requested to submit their papers electronically through the EasyChair platform from the address https://easychair.org/my/conference?conf=uciencia2020#

The papers received will be evaluated based on their originality, quality, meaning and relevance of their theoretical and/or practical contribution to the topic addressed. The evaluation process will be based on the double blind system of the received document. The decision made in the arbitration process is final and unappealable.

Accepted papers will be published in the proceedings of the Conference and a selection of these will be published in the Cuban Journal of Computer Science (RCCI).

The submission of works implies the will that at least one author of each work will register and defend his contribution in the Workshop, if accepted.

Foreigns: $ 300.00 EUR (from March 15 to September 15)
$ 350.00 EUR (after September 15)
National: $ 3000 CUP

Includes: certificate of participation, accreditation module, publication in the proccedings, welcome cocktail and farewell dinner.

Virtual Modality

Foreigners: $ 75.00 EUR
Nationals: $ 400.00 CUP

It includes certificate of participation and publication in the conference proceedings.

A site to be disclosed soon will allow online payments, with the possibility of paying for the registration of one or various participants via the same transfer for greater convenience.
