Call for Chapters:
Proposals Submission Deadline: December 30, 2010
Full Chapters Due: February 15, 2011
Submission Date: April 30, 2011

Introduction

In the past few years, a new wireless architecture has been introduced that does not rely on any fixed infrastructure. A mobile ad-hoc network (MANET) is a self starting dynamic network comprising of mobile nodes, where each and every participation node voluntarily transmit the packets destined to some remote node using wireless (radio signal) transmission. A mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is based on rapid deployment of independent mobile users. The routers are free to move randomly and organize themselves arbitrarily, thus the network’s wireless topology may change rapidly and unpredictably. Such a network may operate in a stand-alone fashion or may be connected to the Internet. With multihop, mobility, and bandwidth properties, MANET is able to perform in large networks even when combined with heterogeneous devices and device modes.

The purpose of this book is to present high-quality theoretical and practical work on MANET. It should act as a reference, and include a real time research application glossary. Technological Advancement and Application in Mobile Ad-hoc Networks should also cover recent advances in mobile and wireless test beds and related research infrastructures that will further improve the scope and possibilities of mobile ad hoc networks.

Target Audience

The book will provide in-depth coverage for researchers and professional concerned with MANET, ad-hoc networking, MANET applications, and related topics. This book will have scholarly value for advanced level students, academicians, and researchers in networking. It should also appeal to professionals working with MANET on applications, security challenges, performance, and many additional parameters.

Recommended topics include, but are not limited to, the following:

* Architecture Specification Mobile Ad hoc Networks
* Basics of Mobile Ad Hoc Networks
* Cross-layer design issues for MANET
