ACTICS 2011 : First International Workshop on Advanced Communication Technologies and Applications to Intelligent transportation systems, Cognitive radios and Sensor networks 2011
Call For Papers
Wired and wireless technologies and applications have become popular in recent years and have received wide deployments in all areas of our life. Recent advancement are dramatically increasing in the areas of vehicular communications for intelligent transportation systems, cognitive radio network (CRN) for dynamic and efficient spectrum sharing, and sensor networks for sensing and monitoring applications.
Vehicular communications for intelligent transportation system are expected to implement variety of wired and wireless technologies to provide safety as well as comfort for passengers and to make more efficient roads in the future by providing timely information to drivers and concerned authorities.
Advancement in CRN will allow unlicensed users to co-exist and use licensed spectrum seamlessly without interfering licensed users thus relieving the congestion in unlicensed spectrum and using the licensed spectrum effectively.
Sensors and sensor network’s potential usage is diverse but the main focus is in areas such as security, health, energy, food safety, environment monitoring and improving quality of all areas of life.
The purpose of ACTICS is to serve as a forum for researchers from academia, industries, professionals, standard developers, students and practitioners to exchange ideas, present new research results and explore new research directions in advanced communication technologies and their applications.
