IB 2011 : International Symposium on Integrative Bioinformatics
Call For Papers
Biological data are scattered across thousands of biological databases and hundreds of scientific journals. Current high throughput genomics technologies generate large quantities of high dimensional data. Microarray, NMR, mass spectrometry, protein chips, gel electrophoresis data, Yeast-Two-Hybrid, QTL mapping, gene silencing, and knockout experiments are all examples of technologies that capture thousands of data points, often in single experiments. The challenge for Integrative Bioinformatics is to capture, model, integrate, and analyse these data in a consistent way to provide new and deeper insights into complex biological systems.
This seventh meeting on Integrative Bioinformatics will be of interest to Bioinformaticians, Computer Scientists and others working in, or interested in finding out more about, the developing area of integrative bioinformatics. There will be opportunities to present and discuss methods, theoretical approaches, and their practical applications.
IB2011 is organized by Wageningen University, the Leibniz Institute of Plant Genetics and Crop Plant Research (IPK) Gatersleben and IMBio e.V.

Next to a number of keynote speakers (TBA), all available remaining slots will be filled by conference participants. To present your work at the conference, send in an extended abstract (max. 4 pages). Accepted presentations will also be invited to send in a full paper for the special issue of the JIB (see below).
Submission of papers
The call for abstracts is open now!
15th January, 2011 -- Extended abstract for presentation submission deadline (up to 4 pages)
1st February, 2011 -- Notification of acceptance for presentations
15th February, 2011 -- Poster and software demo submission deadline
19th February, 2011 -- Notification of acceptance for poster and software demos
20st February, 2011 -- Last date for early registration
21st - 23th March, 2011 -- Conference
Accepted abstracts for presentations will also be invited to send in a full paper for publication. All manuscripts accepted after peer reviewing will appear in a special issue of the Journal of Integrative Bioinformatics (JIB) and will be issued in machine readable from as the conference proceedings. JIB is an open access journal publishing original peer-reviewed research articles in all aspects of integrative bioinformatics. JIB (ISSN 1613-4516) is indexed/tracked/covered by PubMed (since 2008), DBLP Computer Science Bibliography and Google Scholar.
