Call For Papers

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

To submit an abstract for an oral presentation (15 mins), lightning talk (5 mins), or poster, please prepare a one-page abstract (no more than 500 words) including one optional descriptive figure and caption. You will also be asked to supply broad topics and keywords for your submission - this will be critical in the review process. The deadline for submission is January 24, with decisions issued by late February or early March. While space will be limited for talks, we are maximizing all possible options to accommodate speakers.

The OpenConf abstract submission portal is available at https://www.openconf.org/networks2021. If you save a password with your submission, it will be editable until the deadline closing. The Networks 2021 Organized Session list is available here.

If you are submitting an abstract for a talk, you will be asked if you are willing to consider a poster session. You will also be asked if you anticipate your submission will be given in person or remotely (though we recognize this may change). Finally, you will be asked if you wish to submit to an organized session (this only applies to oral presentations). You can find the complete listing of Organized Sessions for Networks 2021 here.

Answers to any these questions will not affect your chances for acceptance and are not visible to reviewers, but help organizer plan efficiently.

Decisions will be made by program committee members drawn from both Sunbelt and NetSci communities, with an aim to have a representation of both communities and to create sessions that, whenever possible, bring together scholars from different traditions who are engaging in work on similar themes or methods. You will be asked to share in the submission process whether the primary author has attended a Sunbelt or NetSci meeting before. Again, reviewers will not see this information and it will not affect acceptance decisions, but it may inform session creation to encourage mixing across communites. .
