Liang Zhao, Kennesaw State University Fangyu Li, Kennesaw State University Keynote Speaker Shouling Ji, Zhejiang University Title: Security and Privacy of Federated Learning Scope With the rapid development of emerging computing systems such as Cloud computing, Fog/edge computing, Cyber Physical Systems (CPS), Internet of Things (IoT), smart applications in energy, public safety, healthcare, and other sectors have been becoming increasingly prosperous. Those computing systems reply on interconnected and collaborative environments, which integrate cooperation of communication and computation among all the system participants. Therefore, embedding secure computation is imperative for those new computing paradigms to be fully adopted in various security-centric domains and applications. Recently, Homomorphic Encryption (HE) has been investigated as a possible solution for secure computation as it differs from typical encryption methods in that it allows computation to be performed directly on encrypted data. This key feature enables computation of sensitive information on even trustless entities. However, due to the characteristics and complexity of interconnected computing systems including IoT and CPS, integration of HE for secure distributed computation infrastructure is still challenging and remains underexplored. The aim of this workshop is to bring together researchers with practitioners and industry to share their new ideas, latest findings and results to push the limits and extend HE to new use cases and applications. Topics Particular topics of interest include: HE based techniques for IoT HE based technologies for CPS HE based technologies for Cloud computing HE based technologies for Fog/Edge computing HE based secure machine learning/deep learning HE for Big Data security HE for security of critical infrastructures HE for medical/health data privacy HE for security in Social Networks HE based techniques for Smart City HE based techniques for secure control in Smart Grid HE based techniques for Smart Connected Vehicles Paper submission: 20 January 2021 (new date) Notification deadline: 15 February 2021 Camera Ready: 8 March 2021 Publication Accepted and presented technical papers will be submitted for publication by Springer and made available through SpringerLink Digital Library. Workshop Papers will be published as a part of the (EAI AC3 2021) Conference Proceedings. Proceedings will be submitted for inclusion in leading indexing services, including Ei Compendex, ISI Web of Science, Scopus, CrossRef, Google Scholar, DBLP, as well as EAI’s own EU Digital Library (EUDL).
