CALL FOR PAPERS
===============================

Cloud computing is rapidly becoming a new computing paradigm that
fundamentally alters the landscape of computing services. The cloud
computing model offers great opportunities for mobile computing and service
industry, allowing mobile devices and services to leverage the dynamic and
elastic resources offered by the clouds. Cloud based services such as IaaS
(Infrastructure-as-a-Service), PaaS (Platform-as-a-Service), and SaaS
(Software-as-a-Service) are ideally suited for mobile devices and services
where performance, affordability, scalability, availability, and elasticity
are critical metrics. Many potential uses have been proposed to integrate
this powerful paradigm into mobile devices and services.

MobiCloud is intended to bring together cloud computing researchers,
experts, developers, and practitioners from academia, industry, and service
providers, to share practical implementations/experiences related to new
mobile computing technologies and applications enabled by the clouds, and
to discuss emerging and future trends in research and application that
integrate the cloud computing paradigm into mobile devices, mobile
applications, and mobile services. To that end, papers are solicited from
all cloud related areas involving mobile devices, mobile applications, or
mobile services, including, but not limited to:

* Mobile platforms, systems, applications, and services integrating
with the clouds

* Performance evaluation, measurement, and modeling of cloud based
mobile services and applications

* Resource discovery, allocation, scheduling, and management for cloud
based mobile services

* Partitioning technologies distributing computing workloads between
the clouds and mobile devices

* Mobile web services integrating the cloud computing infrastructure

* Security and privacy issues/challenges for integrating the clouds
with mobile services/mobile devices

* Mobile virtualization techniques and platforms

* Economic analysis, revenue models, billing techniques for cloud based
mobile services

* Network and storage architectures for mobile clouds

* Cloud computing support for mobile "real-time" interactive
applications and services

* Processing, mining, and storage of mobile context data and/or social
networking data using the clouds

The list of mobile applications and services includes, but not limited to:

* Mobile social networks and social media

* Mobile enterprise applications

* Mobile security and surveillance applications

* Mobile and pervasive health-care applications

* Mobile e-commerce and mobile payment

* Mobile interactive entertainment, multimedia, virtual reality, and gaming

* Location based services and mobile navigation

* Mobile sensor networks

* Mobile VoIP, mobile TV, and video conferencing

CALL FOR POSTERS/DEMOS
===============================

MobiCloud is seeking proposals for posters/demos describing novel work in
cloud based mobile services, platforms, and applications. The areas of
interest are the same as those listed in the technical call for papers. The
posters may describe work in progress and offers an excellent opportunity
for feedback and discussions on early research. All submissions will be
reviewed by the technical program committee.

SUBMISSION
===============================

Original unpublished papers of up to 6 pages (single-spaced, double-column,
8.5" x 11" pages with 10-point font) are invited for submission. Full
papers should present previously-unpublished, original results that are not
simultaneously submitted elsewhere. All papers will be peer-reviewed.
Submissions are made electronically in PDF format only. Papers can be
submitted via ASSYST under the workshop name MBCLD2010
(http://assyst-online.org/submission/welcome.do.php).

Posters and demo submissions are limited to two pages in a two-column
format using a 10-point font or greater in PDF format. Submissions are via
the same ASSYST website as short papers.

All workshop papers will be included in the conference proceedings
by Springer (LNICST series).
