Call For Papers

Abstract Submission

Abstract Submission is open and limited to one presentation per attendee.

Before you submit, please read the important information below.

At the heart of the INFORMS Annual Meeting is the tenet that anyone who wants to present, has the opportunity to present. As the INFORMS Annual Meeting continues to grow by leaps and bounds, it has become harder to fit the increasing number of sessions into our precontracted hotel and convention space. This is particularly the case for the 2020 Annual Meeting, and likely beyond 2020.

To optimize participation, given current and future space constraints, INFORMS Meetings and INFORMS Subdivisions teams are proposing a pilot program model for 2020 that limits the number of presentations per participants at the 2020 Annual Meeting. The proposed model is in line with the ones already implemented by all major conferences of other societies, such as IISE, SIAM, MOS.

This model has been approved by the INFORMS Board.

Submit an Abstract
Presentation Limitation

An attendee may present one paper at the conference. Only the first presentation submitted with the individual’s name as a presenter will be accepted. A participant may appear on the program multiple times as a non-presenting co-author on other papers without exceeding participation limits.

The following exemptions do not count toward this limit:

Participation as a session chair
Pre-conference Workshop/Conference Tutorials
Keynote or Plenary Speaker
INFORMS Tutorial Speaker
Award Session Presenter
Poster Presentation
Theme panel (limit 1)
Non-presenting co-author (no limits)
There are no other exemptions from the presentation limits.

ALL SPEAKERS must be registered by August 31, 2020. If speakers are not registered by August 31st, the speaker will be notified that the presentation will be removed from the program.

Abstract Guidelines and Submission Rules

INFORMS limits speakers to one presentation at the Annual Meeting. Only the first presentation submitted with the individual’s name as a presenter will be accepted.

All abstract submissions must be entered into the submissions site by May 15, 2020, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern.

All presenters must register and pay Annual Meeting registration fees by August 31, 2020 or the session will be removed from the program. One-day registration is not available.

To qualify for membership savings, presenters must have an active INFORMS membership and be in good standing at the time of registration and at the meeting (November 8, 2020).

If you wish to contribute an abstract and have NOT received an invitation from a Session Chair submit by going to SUBMIT

Committee’s Choice (formerly Invited Sessions) & Sponsored Presentations

Presenters will be notified by email to submit their individual abstracts after the Session Chair has submitted the session.

If you have not received an invitation to submit from a Session Chair you will not be able to log in through the system.

Flash Paper Session

If you wish to present a flash paper abstract (6 minute presentation) and have NOT received an invitation from a Session Chair:

Submit an abstract for a poster presentation.

Session Chair

Session Chairs will be notified by email to submit any missing information once the Cluster Chair has submitted the session title. Please note if you are chairing more than one session you may receive more than one email. Please retain this information as it will be your access to the system.

If you have not received an invitation to submit from a Cluster Chair you will not be able to log in through the system.
