SPECIAL ISSUE INFORMATION:

Dear Colleagues,

Modern smart systems are an emerging interdisciplinary field that attempts to balance societal, economic, and environmental resources for the future well-being of humanity. They can make significant contributions to addressing the key societal and environmental challenges faced by humanity in pursuit of a sustainable future. IoT is the cornerstone of modern smart systems, which are now the key driver of sustainable growth in nearly every industrial sector and societal domain. Blockchain has been the critical security mechanism for these IoT-based smart systems due to its distributed and multiple-node nature. Both IoT and blockchain have been well integrated and applied in today’s industries, like smart city, Industry 4.0/5.0, smart energy, smart healthcare, smart transport, etc. Most recently, the cloud-edge-IoT continuum has provided the most effective environment for such smart system to operate.

This Special Issue aims to gather the latest advances in IoT, blockchain, cloud-edge-IoT continuum and smart systems, in particular focusing on their innovative values to support the current sustainable industry and economy.

In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome. Research areas may include (but are not limited to) the following:

Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process.
