The ninth edition of the flagship conference of ACM India, COMPUTE 2016 (http://www.acm-compute.in/2016) will be held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat from October 21 to October 23, 2016. The conference is jointly hosted by DAIICT, IIT Gandhinagar, Kadi University and Gujarat University, with support from the ACM India Gandhinagar chapter. We invite high-quality submissions describing original and unpublished work for the conference. Accepted submissions will be included in the ACM Digital Library.

Submission Guidelines
All submissions must be prepared in ACM conference format in English and must not exceed 10 pages (including figures, references and appendices). Guidelines for paper formatting can be found at
(http://www.acm.org/publications/proceedings-template).

Submissions that violate formatting will be declined without review. Papers must be submitted electronically through the Compute submission site at
(https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=compute2016)

All submissions will be subject to plagiarism check. Papers submitted for consideration should not have been published elsewhere and should not be under review or submitted for review elsewhere during the duration of consideration. At least one author of an accepted paper must register for the conference and present the paper in the conference. Only the presented papers will be included in the proceedings.

Papers that do not make the grade for publication, yet show promise, may be selected for poster presentation instead. If you are specifically interested in submitting a poster, then please ensure that the paper does not exceed 5 pages (including figures, references and appendices).

Topics of Interest
The theme of this conference is the Internet-of-Things (IoT). Connected physical objects that can collect and exchange data are becoming ubiquitous. They have a plethora of applications and generate large amounts of data from diverse locations. This data has to be collected, indexed, and processed. IoT is one of the key components of today's Smart City, and Smart Energy Management Systems.

The papers need not be based only on this theme. Topics of interest for the conference include, but are not restricted to:

Awards will be given for the best paper and the best poster of the conference.
