Health & Clinical Neuroscience

The study of the nervous system and how it is affected by neurological and neuropsychiatric disorders.

Cellular & Molecular Neuroscience

The study of neurons at the cellular and molecular levels, ranging from the study of
neuronal physiological properties to protein chemistry.

Systems & Behavioural Neuroscience

The study of neural circuits, systems and pathways of information flow and their role in influencing behaviour.

Poster Presentations

All abstracts submitted for poster presentations are accepted provided that the research to be presented relates to one of the Research Areas in neuroscience.

Poster Requirements

Posters are typically 48" x 36" or 36" x 48".

Posters will be displayed on poster boards during one of two scheduled presentation sessions. Presenters must be available at their poster during their assigned time slot.

Oral presentations will be approximately 10 minutes long with a 5 minute question period following the presentation.

Confirmation emails for poster and oral presentations will be sent out once the selection commitee has considered each student.

Honorariums

Two honorariums will be awarded for the most outstanding poster presentations, as determined by a panel of undergraduate and graduate judges. Honorariums will also be given to three "honourable mentions".

One honorarium will be awarded for the most outstanding oral presentation, as determined by a panel of undergraduate and graduate judges. A "runner-up" honorarium will also be awarded.

Multiple abstract publications in the McMaster Meducator Journal will be awarded to outstanding presentations, as determined by a panel of McMaster Meducator Executives.

Publication in the McMaster Journal of Interdisciplinary Sciences (MJoIS) will be awarded to one outstanding presentation, as determined by a panel of MJoIS Executives.
