Call For Papers

In the information era, multimedia content, including audio, image, video and 3D computer graphics models, in digital form is being used in a wide range of applications. However, at the same time, an increasing number of security problems, such as illegal copying and distribution, plagiarism and misappropriation, have been revealed, thus creating a strong need for schemes that can efficiently cope with multimedia security and privacy. As opposed to conventional cryptography which aims at making the meaning of information obscure to a person who is intercepting it, information hiding is considered as a very promising solution to security issue of multimedia content by embedding a watermark into a host signal and making the hidden watermark robust/fragile and imperceptible. The goal of this special issue is to provide the readers of the International Journal of Image and Graphics (IJIG) with an overview of the most recent developments and the current state of the art of multimedia watermarking and security techniques. We welcome original research papers, review articles and brief communications on topics that include, but are not limited to:

Multimedia watermarking and security
Steganography and steganalysis
Theoretical aspects of information hiding and detection
Applications of information hiding
Integrity verification of digital content
Digital forensics
Biometrics and their applications
Robust/perceptual hashing for multimedia identification
