ADST 2015 Sixth International Conference
Desalination Technologies and Water Reuse
Water shortage and the threat of desertification are among the critical challenges facing many countries on the Southern rim of the Mediterranean, in the Middle East and in the Gulf Region. The crucial issue of filling the gap between water supply and demand is imposing itself in these countries, which in turn would benefit from the various desalination technologies, and possible techniques for water reuse. Accordingly, there is always an ever increasing need to develop and to implement such technologies due to the continuing developments in those areas, which are not only consuming the natural water resources, but also contaminating them. Accordingly, there is a continuous need to develop strategies and long-term plans to face challenges related to the need, design, operation, maintenance, sustainable development and economics of not only desalination technologies, but also of the various possible tracks for water reuse.
To maintain the target of the series of conference organized by ADST, the conference is still targeted at enhancing the cooperation between countries in need of such technologies and those providing the know-how,
