WOMSA: 1st Workshop on Opinion Mining and Sentiment Analysis

At CAEPIA-TTIA Conference
November 13, 2009
Seville, Spain
http://www.lsi.us.es/womsa09/

Aims and scope
----------------------------
"What do people think about?", this is perhaps the question that better
describes the scope of the workshop. In a world in which millions of people
write their opinions about any issue in blogs, news sites, review sites or
social media, the distillation of knowledge from this huge amount of
unstructured information is a challenging task. Sentiment Analysis and
Opinion Mining are two areas related to Natural Language Processing and Text
Mining that deal with the identification of opinions and attitudes in
natural language texts.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Opinion classification
- Opinion extraction
- Opinion summarization and visualization
- Recommender systems
- User generated content and social media analysis
- Blogs analysis
- Sentiment and subjectivity analysis
- Applications: politics, business intelligence, sociology,
marketing research, ...

How to participate
---------------------------------
You are invited to submit a position paper or a research paper as a PDF file
of no more than 10 pages. Original research papers are preferred, but are
also welcome reports on already published works, and ongoing research
papers. The papers must be formatted according to the Springer LNAI
instructions (see http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html).
