Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the 12th Spanish-German Symposium on Applied Computer Science (SGSOACS 2026) and invite you to submit your latest research and contributions. The symposium will take place from June 29 to July 1, 2026, at the Conference Venue Waldtraut in Oberursel, Germany.

Originally established to promote collaboration in Applied Computer Science primarily between Spanish and German universities, SGSOACS has grown into a vibrant international forum. This edition is jointly organized by the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences (Germany), the University of Cadiz (Spain), and the Complutense University of Madrid (Spain). We explicitly encourage researchers, professionals, and students from any country or institution to submit papers and to attend.

Topics of Interest

The fundamental goal of the symposium is to present highly speculative research as a series of talks followed by open questions and debate. We welcome submissions addressing, but not limited to, the following topics:
- Complex Event Processing
- Cyber Security and Blockchain
- Data Science
- Human-Activity Recognition
- Smart Cities and Ambient-Assisted Living
- Software Architectures
- Software Engineering
- Software Testing

Submission Guidelines and Publication

All accepted full and short papers will be published by Springer Nature in the Communications in Computer and Information Science (CCIS) proceedings series. Contributions must be written in English, which is the working language of the symposium.
Two main categories of contributions are allowed for publication with Springer:
- Full Papers: 12-15 pages (excluding an optional appendix)
- Short Papers: 6-11 pages

Additionally, Extended Abstracts (maximum length of 1 page) are welcome. These are highly useful for presenting preliminary results or fostering active discussions during the event; however, please note that extended abstracts will not be included in the formal proceedings.
