Call For Papers

Due to the health and humanitarian difficulties posed by the COVID -19 pandemic, COBEM 2021 was held entirely online, from November 22 to 26, 2021. All activities were handled through an online platform designed for large online events. All 1,129 attendees were able to access all activities conveniently and securely from home or office, and 1,006 full papers were published in the proceedings.

Despite the success of the online event, we all missed the face-to-face interaction, the opportunity to talk and socialize with other participants that is typical of in-person events. Physical events also encourage people to interact and socialize with the community.

Time has passed and the COVID -19 pandemic has subsided. Therefore, on behalf of the organizing committee, it is my pleasure and honor to invite you to submit a paper and participate in the 27th Brazilian Congress of Mechanical Engineering – COBEM 2023 – to be held in Florianopolis, SC, from December 4-8, 2023.

We reaffirm the theme of the last COBEM, “Mechanical Engineering – Tailoring the Future.” This theme recognizes the role of mechanical engineering in shaping and implementing ideas to solve today’s problems and create possible futures. It is also a reminder of the important role we play in adapting these solutions to people’s needs, without losing sight of our responsibility for long-term sustainability.

We expect up to 1,500 scientists, researchers, faculty, students, and professional engineers to present and discuss all topics from new materials to smart structures, from information technology to advanced manufacturing, from artificial intelligence to robotics, from nano- and microsystems to energy efficiency, from molecular mechanics to bioengineering, to name just a few examples.

The Congress program will include plenary sessions, roundtables, parallel technical sessions with paper presentations, poster sections, short courses, award sections, committee and ABCM sessions, and the Career and Innovation Fair, an open forum for discussion where attendees can interact and network with the community, including our partners and sponsors.

I would like to invite you to submit your contribution and participate in this renewed COBEM in person.

I hope to see you in Florianopolis in December!

Amir A. M. Oliveira Jr.

Chair of the 27th COBEM
