The 1st International Conference on Augmented and Virtual Reality (SALENTO AVR 2014) will take place in Lecce (Italy) on September 17-20, 2014 with the aim to bring a community of researchers from academia and industry, computer scientists, engineers, physicians together in order to share points of views, knowledge, experiences and scientific and technical results, related to state-of-the-art solutions and technologies on virtual and augmented reality applications for medicine, cultural heritage, education, industrial sectors, as well as the demonstration of advanced products and technologies.

SALENTO AVR 2014 seeks original and high-quality papers related to virtual reality, augmented reality, mixed reality and 3D user interfaces in the following areas:
• medicine and surgery
• cultural heritage
• education
• arts
• entertainment
• military and space
• industry

We invite electronic submissions of papers for oral or poster presentation.
Paper can be submitted presenting research results or reviews existing results including empirical or theoretical studies, comprehensive case studies, presentation of project results in their conclusive phase.
Posters are welcome about work-in-progress, achievements of initial research, projects in early stages of development, case studies, etc. Poster presentations will be published in the conference proceedings.
SALENTO AVR 2014 provides exhibitors to showcase VR-related products as hardware, software, integrated systems, peripherals, innovative solutions and anything else of interest to our conference participants.
