13th International Conference on Gender and Women’s Studies 2026 (GWS2026)
“Transforming Systems and Attitudes to Enhance Gender Equality.” 14-15 September 2026 - Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia The 13th International Conference on Gender and Women’s Studies 2026 invites academics, researchers, and professionals to contribute to the theme “Transforming Systems and Attitudes to Enhance Gender Equality.” We seek high-quality papers that critically examine structural inequalities, cultural practices, and innovative interventions for equity. GWS2026 conference provides an international forum for interdisciplinary dialogue and evidence-based scholarship. Together, we aim to generate transformative knowledge that informs policy, practice, and social change. We encourage submissions that critically engage with diverse topics, including (but not limited to): -Gender-Based Violence – Addressing all forms of gender-based violence -Gender and Artificial Intelligence – Examining algorithmic bias, representation, and the gendered impacts of AI. -Care Economy and Unpaid Work – Exploring recognition, valuation, and policy innovations for care and social protection. -Gender and Climate Justice – Investigating women’s roles, vulnerabilities, and leadership in climate action. -Limiting Gender-Based Rights – Analyzing resistance, policy reversals, and strategies to safeguard gender equality. -Reproductive Justice and Health – Focusing on equity in reproductive rights, health research, and access to services. -Masculinities and Transformative Change – Engaging men and boys in shifting norms and reducing violence. -Disability and Intersectionality – Highlighting inclusive policies and lived experiences of women with disabilities. -Migration and Gendered Mobility – Studying gendered impacts of migration, displacement, and global mobility. -Gender Data and Policy Evidence – Advancing methods, indicators, and research to guide effective policies. This invitation is for you to submit an abstract along with the application. The categories of the abstracts accepted for presentation at the GWS2026 are, but not limited to, original research papers, published articles, dissertations/PhD thesis, work in progress, case studies and reports on current issues aligned with the conference themes. Submission Guidelines: -Abstracts: Abstracts should be between 250-300 words and must include the title, author's name/s, affiliation/s, and corresponding author contact details. -Panel Proposals: Panel proposals should include a 300-word description of the panel theme, along with one abstract that provides details of the individual papers (up to four papers per panel). -Full Papers: Optional full papers should be between 4,000-6,000 words (excluding references).
