Call For Papers

Organizers:

Dr. Furao Shen, National Key Laboratory for Novel Software Technology, Nanjing University, China. frshen@nju.edu.cn

Prof. Zhi-Hua Zhou, National Key Laboratory for Novel Software Technology, Nanjing University, China. Zhouzh@nju.edu.cn

Overview:

The field of data mining has undergone a rapid growth over the last decade. While some research issues have received significant attention and matured into stable solutions, new problems and goals are emerging as the focus of data mining research community. As part of ICONIP 2009, the “Neural Networks for Data Mining” special session will bring together researchers interested in all aspects of core data mining topics and their applications.

Papers for this special session include, but are not limited to:
 Classification
 Clustering
 Ensemble methods
 Semi-supervised learning
 Multi-instance and Multi-label learning
 Cost-sensitive and class-imbalance learning
 Mining high-dimensional data
 Online and incremental learning
 Mining large-scale data
 Parallel and distributed data mining
 Comprehensible data mining

Prospective authors are invited to submit original, high quality manuscripts of up to eight A4-pages electronically. The submissions will be reviewed rigorously by an international review committee. It is recommended to submit the special session papers in PDF format following the Springer LNCS format through the paper submission site. All accepted papers will appear in the ICONIP'09 conference proceedings. A journal special issue for extended selected papers of the special session is in consideration. See more information of the conference proceedings and special issues at http://www.iconip09.org/.
