Call For Papers

NaturaLiSE will bring together researchers and practitioners working in all areas of natural language analysis of software. Natural language analysis techniques for software engineering exploit information extracted from the natural language found in software components and associated artifacts, such as documentation and bug reports.

Natural language analysis, especially when combined with traditional programming language information, shows promise in addressing many software engineering challenges, such as program search and exploration, debugging, testing, program comprehension, traceability, refactoring, and automatic documentation generation.

NaturaLiSE is a one-day workshop structured to encourage discussion and develop research collaborations through working groups, a panel on the future of natural language analysis in software engineering, and short research presentations limited to 10 minutes to provide additional discussion time.

Prospective participants are invited to submit technical papers up to 8 pages using ICSE 2013 format guidelines. Relevant topics include (but are not limited to)
- Natural language and textual analyses of software artifacts
- Combining natural language and traditional program analyses
- Application of natural language analyses to
- program search and exploration
- debugging and testing
- program comprehension
- traceability
- refactoring
- automatic documentation summarization
- quality assessment
- reverse engineering
- Mining natural language data from software artifacts
- Empirical studies evaluating the usefulness of natural language analysis.

Each accepted paper must have at least one author in attendance at the workshop. Submissions will be reviewed by at least three reviewers, with content quality, workshop relevance, and potential to generate discussion as the deciding criteria for acceptance.

Submission is via EasyChair: https://www.easychair.org/account/signin.cgi?conf=naturalise2013
