We would like to invite you to contribute a paper to a special session at the 9th Asian Control Conference (ASCC 2013) which will be held on June 23-26, 2013 at Istanbul, Turkey.

The Special Session, namely “Type-2 Fuzzy Logic Systems: Theory, Design and Applications” has recently been accepted by the conference organizing committee.



Topics:

Topics including uncertainty modeling with higher order fuzzy sets, specifically type-2 fuzzy logic and system modeling are welcome. Type-2 fuzzy systems are proposed to deal with uncertainties appeared in both premise and consequence part of fuzzy systems. Recently, there have been many successful simulative and real-time studies reporting the superior performance of type-2 fuzzy systems over their type-1 counterparts. Beside the numerous numbers of studies, there are still some open issues in the field of type-2 fuzzy systems:

· How to calculate the outputs of the type-2 fuzzy systems especially when the secondary membership functions are fuzzy values?

· How to train type-2 fuzzy-neuro systems simpler, more accurate and considering the stability criteria?

· How to justify the superior performance of type-2 fuzzy systems? Is there any mathematical evidence for that?

· Last but not least, how to find a sufficiently exact level of uncertainty at which the type-2 fuzzy system is undoubtedly more preferable choice than its type-1 counterpart?

Index:

All submissions will be reviewed and those accepted will be included in the conference proceedings. The proceedings of ASCC 2013 will be included in IEEE Xplore®. It will also be indexed by EI compendex. Selected papers of ASCC 2013 will be recommended for possible publication in Asian Journal of Control in extended form.
