The most fundamental descriptive image for economics will be found in the state of nature; as a direct fallout of an incontrovertible and observable reality whose sustenance is similar to the hierarchical structure of eco-systems. But the hierarchical ecosystem is characterized by its own spiralling energies that generate specific and targeted impetus along links of of survival or self-aggrandizement. No amount of economic theorizing has been able to adequately determine its functional existence. Only certain scaling models as those retained in the Biblical prescriptions of economic order, or the Manusamhita or Al-Hadith with their incredibly fabricated and supernaturally predicated vision of society, and their continuous juxtaposition of castes, classifications, financial distributions and obligations of labour and intellectual commitment, have succeeded in containing the natural, supra-ethical economics of hierarchy.
Segments of an ecosystem are guided by mental control (law), mind-games (ethics), demands (agriculture), imaginative manipulations (value of gold), scarcity/abundance (methods of production) desire (marriage, insurance), sexuality (prostitution), palatal stimulations, visual obsessions. Economic policies are always controlled by group interests. Hence any form of legal punishment of theft, loot, territorial transgression is always an act of aggression over another individual or minority, or race by another group which already owns or capitalizes the object of desire.
Some individuals are always privileged. Some individuals are always marginalized. Humans mostly prefer not to rebel against exploitation for fear of retribution. Hence also the grand old myth of Nations and Independence.
