Focus:
Population movements across the world have resulted in cultural and
linguistic contact, a situation that creates new opportunities to
study the relationship between language, society, and education. This
issue seeks to contribute to the understanding of the role of language
in society and education.
o teaching to heritage speakers
o maintaining biliteracy
o cultural and linguistic issues related to migration
o bilingualism, language policies, and language planning
o migration and hybridism in language
o language and education
o pragmatics in the classroom
o language and dialect contact
o discourse analysis
o language ideologies
o translation as cultural mediation
This edition intends to bring together research on sociolinguistics,
pragmatics, dialectology, and discourse analysis with a view to
raising awareness to language ecology and the ethical issues involved
in language pedagogy.

Who May Submit:
Submissions are welcome from researchers and educators at all levels;
those that are involved in the teaching of FIRST, SECOND or FOREIGN
language are especially welcome. Please identify your submission with
keyword: LANGUAGE-8

Article submission deadline: Any time until the end of August, 2013.

Please read carefully before submitting your contribution:

1. Feature editors only decide the review outcome when there is a
disagreement between two reviewers.

2. Feature Editors do not intervene on behalf of authors who fail to
meet requirements.

3. Any lengthy-frequent-repetitive contacts with the journal is
discouraged.

contacts. Otherwise, your submission will be rejected or rescheduled
for consideration until the next available issue.

b. Exceeding eight contacts may disqualify your submission from
further consideration as it drives up journal's administrative cost
above the sixty-two dollars average per one submission. Hence, in
order to work efficiently, we had to establish "eight contacts limit"
per one submission.
4. The journal does not offer page proofs, offprints, hard copy of
galleys or author's complimentary copy of the issue. Instead, authors
may qualify for 1/2 price author's copy. If you plan to purchase a
paper copy, you may want to order ASAP when you are assured of paper's
publication. Usually, Academic Exchange Quarterly is sold out the
month it is printed.
