Sustainability Science fuses the natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities together to probe the dynamics of global-social-human systems and the complex mechanisms that lead to their degradation.

The aim of the journal is to create a transdisciplinary academic structure and encourage analyses across systems including: global systems comprising natural resources, energy, and ecosystems that support human life; social systems comprising national economies, governments, industries, and technological structures; and human systems comprising individual lifestyles, health, security, safety, and human values.
