Computer science students play a lot of games. Indeed, many students are first drawn to the field by their love of games. Educators seek to harness this passion. Games make fantastic projects, bridging the gap between contrived toy problems and difficult real-world problems. Some propose that the learning process itself can usefully be cast as a game. We solicit articles that describe original work on any aspect of games in computer science education. Suitable topics include, but are not limited to:

* Game projects in courses across the CS curriculum, at all levels of education
* Comparison of game-based and non-game-based courses and projects
* “Gamification” of education: turning the class into a game
* Impact of game-based courses on recruitment and retention of majors
* Impact of game-based courses on women, minorities, and other underrepresented groups
* Literature reviews on games in CS education
* Education for subjects specific to games, such as game AI
* Libraries, toolkits, and other software for building games in an educational context
* Games designed to teach computer science beyond the classroom

Final camera-ready paper: March 1, 2013
