SPECIAL ISSUE ON Metaheuristics for Biomedical Applications

Memetic Computing Journal

Guest Editors:
Asst. Prof. Ahmad Taher Azar, Benha University, Egypt
Prof. Aboul-Ella Hassanien, Cairo University, Egypt

INTRODUCTION

Metaheuristics search techniques have been successfully applied to solve many problems in intelligent systems, and have always been a central area of AI research. Many real-world situations lead to problems that have several conflicting objectives, which typically cannot be optimized with a unique solution. The applicability of metaheuristics as a preferred method over other optimization methods is primarily to find good heuristic solutions to complex optimization problems with many local optima and little inherent structure to guide the search.

OBJECTIVE OF THE SPECIAL ISSUE

As metaheuristics have permeated into many areas and have many diverse applications, it is impossible to cover all topics and algorithms in one special issue.
So that this special issue aims at providing an opportunity for researchers interested in the advances and applications of metaheuristics for biomedical applications, to present the advances and latest developments in this area. The special issue will be oriented towards both theoretical and applications aspects of metaheuristics to Biomedical Applications. We are looking for original, high-quality submissions on innovative research and development in all aspects of Metaheuristics.

RECOMMENDED TOPICS

The editors seek submissions on the following topics in Metaheuristics, but are not limited to:
• Tabu search
• simulated annealing
• iterated local search
