Call For Papers

While local authentication through biometrics has established its legacy, Biometrics as-a-service (BaaS) is an emerging topic related to specific applications having complex protocols for human identification over the network. To obtain the
combined benefit of cloud computing and biometric security, BaaS is increasingly being adopted by organizations for enrolling employees and customers over the network, thereby achieving streamlined customer service, and protecting against fraudulent and malicious users. In this scenario, third party licensed biometrics engines can be integrated with cloud resources and APIs installed on PCs, tablets or mobile phones.
This special issue will present some of the most advanced research and latest findings on Biometrics as-a-Service (BaaS).

Topics of interest:
• Traits/cues for BaaS
• Computing architectures and configurable resources for BaaS
• Cloud infrastructures and support for BaaS
• Storage and APIs in BaaS
• Mobile biometrics for cloud based BaaS
• Cancelable biometrics for BaaS
• Cryptographic encryption and cryptanalysis methodologies for BaaS
• Fusion schemes for BaaS
• Cyber physical systems for cloud based BaaS
• Smart services and affective environments for BaaS
• Database indexing, cohort selection, and ensemble systems for BaaS
• Evaluation protocols and parameters for BaaS
• Protocols and standards for BaaS
• Multimedia services for BaaS
• Liveness detection in cloud based BaaS
• Legal, ethical, and regulation factors for BaaS
