Call For Papers

SCOPE OF THE WORKSHOP
This workshop provides a forum for presenting and discussing current and emerging research on technology that supports family history and genealogy. Results should address technology problems whose solutions have the potential to improve family history and genealogical research work. The workshop will include a keynote speaker and technical presentations.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
We invite all who enjoy learning about emerging technology as it applies to family history and genealogy. We especially invite those who do research and publish in the areas of informatics, computer science, statistics, linguistics, and library science.

TOPICS OF INTEREST
We solicit submissions of original research as well as experience papers that address, but are not limited to:
• Record Linkage and Merging
• Information Integration and Delivery Systems
• Genealogical Search Engines and Indexing
• Human-Computer Interfaces and Social Networking
• Document Digitization, Processing, and Archival
• Automated Research and Collaboration Assistants
• Name/Place/Date Authorities
• Handwriting Recognition and Automatic Record Transcription

HOW TO SUBMIT
Authors should submit full length papers along with an abstract to the submission website at continue2.cs.brown.edu/FHTW10. Submissions will be peer reviewed by at least two members of the program committee.

DEMOS
Consider demonstrating your family history applications at the workshop. Find demo session info on the workshop website.

AWARDS
Awards will be given for the top student papers.
