Also known as Kovai, Coimbatore is the second largest city of Tamil Nadu and one of the fastest growing cities in India. Situated at the foot hills of the Nilgiris, it is known for its pleasant climate, peaceful atmosphere, cosmopolitan outlook and private enterprise. Cotton textiles, electric motors, pumps, automobile spares, iron steel and aluminium castings are some of the major exports from Coimbatore.

There are a number of picnic spots situated in and around Coimbatore. Siruvani Waterfalls, about (37 kms) west of the city is noted for it's captivating beauty and the sweetness of it's water.The panoramic view of the dam and the falls are of enchanting beauty.
