National Council of Rural Institutes (NCRI), an organisation under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, established in the year 1995 has been working with various rural institutes throughout the country in promoting rural higher education and livelihoods centered activities. RRIC, one of the major organs of NCRI, deals with information services to rural institutes. May 11th being observed as National Technology Day, to commemorate the spirit of technological development in the country, RRIC brings out a special volume of articles every year. On the same lines a special volume under the title 'Technology and Rural India', is being brought out this year by publishing articles from eminent scientists and technologists, who have made significant contribution in their chosen fields. True to the spirit of RRIC to bring technology into the lives of rural India, this effort is expected to compliment the same.

It is in this regard, we are approaching you to contribute an article with an abstract before 20th May to enable us to bring out the special volume at the earliest.Articles could be mailed to porric@ncri.in or bsita70@gmail.com(alternatively).

We also wish to seek your active support in reaching out to more technologists who can contribute for this special issue.
