The Second Asian Conference on Cultural Studies will offer a rich diversity of academic and cultural activity in the fantastically stimulating context of Japan, and in one of the world's great cities. Come and join us in Osaka for what promises to be a culturally stimulating, challenging and exciting event.

CONFERENCE THEME: ENCOUNTERS & EXCHANGES

The theme for the 2012 conference is 'Encounters and Exchanges' and the programme advisers also suggest the following sub-themes with the hope and expectation that they will excite interesting new interpretations and explorations: 'Post/colonial or trans/colonial?', 'Transformations of self and place', 'Beyond boundaries?','Difference, diversity, plurality', 'Cultural re/constructions', 'Politics and power', and 'Ideologies of culture'. We hope that the conference theme will again encourage academic and personal encounters and exchanges across national, religious, cultural and disciplinary divides.
