We are pleased to announce the Call for Papers for IWCLUL 2026, the 11th International Workshop on Computational Linguistics for Uralic Languages.

The workshop will be held as a self-standing event on December 9-11, 2026, at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (Germany). Proceedings will be published in the ACL Anthology.

IWCLUL brings together researchers working on computational approaches to Uralic languages (Samoyedic, Ugric, Permic, Balto-Finnic, the Sami languages, Mordvin, and Mari). Topics of interest include, among others:

- Multilingual NLP approaches involving at least one Uralic language
- LLMs for endangered Uralic languages
- Parsers, analysers, and processing pipelines
- Lexical databases and electronic dictionaries
- End-user applications (spelling/grammar checkers, MT, speech processing)
- Evaluation methods, gold standards, tagged corpora, treebanks
- Language-independent or unsupervised methods
- Surveys and reviews on computational linguistics for Uralic languages
- Community engagement, revitalization campaigns, games with a purpose

Submission details:
- Short papers: up to 4 pages (+ unlimited references)
- Long papers: up to 8 pages (+ unlimited references)
- Submissions must follow the ACL stylesheet and be anonymized for double-blind review
- Submit via OpenReview
- No registration or publication fees
- Lightning talks: 750-word abstracts, for work in progress or ideas, published in separate lightning proceedings

Important dates (all times AoE):
- Paper submission (full and short): October 11, 2026
- Notification of acceptance: November 2, 2026
- Camera-ready deadline: November 15, 2026
- Workshop: December 9-11, 2026

Remote presentation is possible for those with valid reasons (visa or health issues, etc.).
