Methods, and Use Cases for Innovative Scientific Discovery (BTSD 2026) In conjunction with the 2026 IEEE International Conference on Big Data December 14–17, 2026 Phoenix, Arizona, USA Workshop Website: https://sites.google.com/view/btsd2026 IMPORTANT DATES - Paper abstract submission: October 1, 2026 - Full workshop paper submission: October 7, 2026 - Notification of acceptance: November 4, 2026 - Camera-ready submission: November 25, 2026 BTSD 2026 invites research papers, systems papers, methods, evaluations, position papers, and real-world use cases at the intersection of big data, AI-assisted tools, and scientific discovery. Topics include, but are not limited to: - AI agents, research copilots, and coding assistants for science - Foundation models, LLMs, multimodal models, and RAG - Scientific knowledge graphs and semantic search - Tool-calling models, MCP-enabled tools, and interoperable agent workflows - Scientific data integration, metadata, provenance, FAIR data, and data fusion - Database, cloud, HPC, edge, and scalable big-data infrastructure - Integration of simulations, experiments, machine learning, and data - Uncertainty quantification and evaluation of AI-assisted workflows - Reproducibility, robustness, hallucination control, and human oversight - Privacy, security, governance, and trustworthy AI for science - Visualization and interactive scientific exploration - Applications in physics, chemistry, materials, biology, medicine, climate, energy, power systems, engineering, national security, and environmental science SUBMISSIONS - Short papers: 4–6 pages - Full papers: 8–10 pages - IEEE two-column format - Single-blind peer review Accepted and registered papers will be included in the IEEE BigData 2026 Workshop Proceedings published by the IEEE Computer Society Press, subject to conference registration and presentation requirements.
