Call For Papers

The Wireless Health annual conference series convenes the vanguard international research communities in Wireless technologies and mobile health research. Wireless Health 2013, hosted this year at Johns Hopkins University, invites cutting edge wireless, connected and mobile health research from engineering, computer science, biomedical and health disciplines.

The fourth annual Wireless Health conference will build upon the successes of Wireless Health 2010, 2011 and 2012, each of which included up to 400 attendees. The mission of the Wireless Health conference is to provide the highest‐quality academic, health and industrial research forum to develop an international community that will accelerate the development and adoption of new technologies for improving health and lowering costs. Central to this mission is the creation of a nurturing research forum that communicates the latest developments in the field, creates an opportunity for transdisciplinary collaboration, and provides an archival venue for the progress being achieved. This unique meeting brings together members of the medical and health research community, device manufacturers, clinical and health service providers, government leaders, and policy makers. Wireless Health 2013 will offer an outstanding set of peer‐reviewed papers and abstracts, interactive workshops, emerging application demonstrations, and world‐renowned invited speakers.

The committee solicits original contributions to the field of Wireless and Mobile Health in engineering, computer science, medicine, health services, and health promotion/disease prevention highlighting innovative applications of wireless health principles and technologies in clinical and public health settings. Sample topics of interest can be found below.

There are 3 paths to presenting your work at Wireless Health 2013:

1. Health Technology, Engineering and Computer sciences:
Full papers (4-8 pages) can be submitted for either oral or poster presentation (or both). Full papers will be published in ACM Conference proceedings. The authors of the best papers will be invited to submit an extended version of their contribution for publication in a special issue of IEEE Transactions on Emerging Topics in Computing (TETC). Full papers must be in the ACM conference format. Posters will be presented in a speed-talk format in a dedicated session. For further information on the special issue of the IEEE Transactions on Emerging Topics in Computing (TETC), please visit here.

2. Biomedicine, behavioral and social sciences:
Research abstracts (500 words) can be submitted for either oral or poster presentation (or both). The authors of the accepted abstracts will be invited to submit a paper for review to the Journal of Translational Behavioral Medicine. Research abstracts must be in the WH2013 Abstract Submission Format. Posters will be presented in a speed-talk format in a dedicated session.

3. Academic and Industry Researchers are encouraged to submit Demonstration Abstracts (2-pages) for speed-talk format presentation. Each Demonstration will be given a space in the demonstration hall. Demonstration abstracts must be in the ACM conference format.
