12TH INTERNATIONAL LANGUAGE, LITERATURE AND CULTURE CONFERENCE

“Human, Environment and Ecology”

Continuing the interdisciplinary tradition of the International Language, Literature and Culture (LLC) Conference Series, the 12th International Language, Literature and Culture Conference, jointly organized by Çankaya University and Bournemouth University, will be hosted by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Süleyman Demirel University on 21–24 October 2026. Scholars and researchers are cordially invited to contribute to the conference under the theme “Human, Environment and Ecology.”

The conference seeks to address the climate crisis and ongoing environmental transformations—among the most urgent global challenges of our time—by examining the relationship between humans, society, and nature within an interdisciplinary framework.

Reconsidering this relationship not solely in terms of conflict, but also through the lenses of mutual interaction, adaptation, and transformation constitutes the central point of departure of the conference. In this context, ecocriticism will be approached as a critical field of inquiry that extends beyond literary and linguistic studies to intersect with a broad spectrum of disciplines in the humanities and social sciences, including philosophy, history, geography, archaeology, sociology, anthropology, history of arts, psychology, philology, media studies, translation, and education.

The conference aims to foreground the cultural, ethical, aesthetic, and social dimensions of environmental issues and to foster rigorous scholarly discussions aimed at rethinking humanity’s position within ecological systems. By bringing together experts and researchers from diverse fields, the event aspires to contribute meaningfully to ongoing debates in ecocritical and environmental humanities studies.

The topics listed below reflect the thematic framework of the conference; interdisciplinary, comparative, and innovative contributions in related areas are also warmly welcomed.

Ecocriticism (literature, film, visual arts, translation, and cultural representations)

Environmental History and Archaeology (human–environment interactions in past societies; historical analyses of environmental change)

Environmental Philosophy and Ethics (the Anthropocene, environmental justice, animal rights, ecological ethics)

Environmental Sociology and Anthropology (social impacts of climate change; local and global environmental movements; Indigenous ecological knowledge)

Environmental Psychology (eco-anxiety, environmental awareness, connectedness with nature, psychological foundations of pro-environmental behavior)

Sustainability and Development (social, cultural, and economic dimensions of sustainable living models)

Space, Urban Studies, and Ecology (ecological urbanization; environmental impacts of urban transformation; green spaces)

Disasters, Climate Crisis, and Society (social and cultural consequences of climate-related disasters)

Environmental Communication and Media (media representations of the climate crisis and public perception)

Environmental Policy and Law (national and international environmental policies; climate negotiations; legal regulations)

A maximum 300-word abstract and five keywords must be submitted as an email attachment to sduitbfsempozyum@gmail.com by May 15, 2026.

In the body of the email, contributors are required to provide their full name, institutional affiliation, email address, ORCID number, phone number, title of the paper, abstract, five keywords, and a brief biographical note.

Submissions that do not comply with these guidelines may not be considered for review. All submissions to the conference will be reviewed by at least two independent peers for technical merit and content.
