Call For Papers

Dates: August 18–20, 2026
Location: Athens, Greece

The ASCENT 2026 Workshop: Autonomous Systems for Cities & Evolving Networks is co-located with:

The 23rd International Conference on Mobile Systems and Pervasive Computing (MobiSPC 2026)

The 21st International Conference on Future Networks and Communications (FNC 2026)

The 16th International Conference on Sustainable Energy Information Technology (SEIT 2026)

Scope:
The rapid evolution of Artificial Intelligence (AI), autonomous systems, and next-generation communication networks is transforming modern urban environments. Smart cities increasingly rely on intelligent technologies to support mobility, energy management, public safety, and IoT-enabled services.

Emerging paradigms such as agentic AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) enable reasoning, planning, and adaptive decision-making in dynamic environments. This workshop provides a forum for researchers and practitioners to explore innovative approaches at the intersection of autonomous systems, smart cities, AI, and future networks, addressing both theoretical challenges and real-world applications.

Topics of Interest (include but are not limited to):

Autonomous systems (UAVs, autonomous vehicles, multi-agent systems, swarm intelligence)

AI for autonomy (agentic AI, LLMs, reinforcement learning, planning and reasoning)

Networking and edge intelligence (edge AI, communication protocols, 6G networks)

Smart city applications (transportation, public safety, energy, IoT systems)

Security, trust, and reliability in autonomous and networked systems

Important Dates:

Paper Submission Deadline: March 24, 2026

Notification of Acceptance: May 15, 2026

Final Manuscript Due: June 12, 2026

Submission Guidelines:
Papers must be original, not under review elsewhere, follow Procedia Computer Science (Elsevier) formatting, and be limited to 6 pages (including figures and references).
