====================================================================
WOA 2026 27th edition of the Workshop “From Objects to Agents” (WOA) Salerno, Italy, June 15-17, 2026 https://sites.google.com/view/woa2026 ==================================================================== Event Announcement and Call for Papers ========================================== After the first successful 26 editions in Trento, Parma, Modena, Milano, Villasimius, Torino, Camerino, Catania, Genova, Palermo, Parma, Rimini, Rende, Milano, Torino, Catania, Napoli, Catania, Scilla, Palermo, Parma, Bologna (online) and Bologna, Genova, Roma, and Bard, the 27th edition of the Workshop “From Objects to Agents” (WOA) will be hosted by the University of Salerno from June 15 to 17, 2026, in the city center of Salerno (SA) at the Fondazione CARISAL. The topic of this year edition will be: "New Challenges on Trustworthy Autonomous Agents and Cognitive Systems" Autonomous agents are increasingly shaping decision-making by acting independently, learning from experience, and interacting with humans and other agents in complex, dynamic environments. They are applied in domains such as healthcare, finance, robotics, and smart systems to perform tasks with minimal human supervision. Advances in AI, including cognitive computation, generative AI, and large language models, enable agents to adapt efficiently to uncertain situations. As these systems become more capable, trust, transparency, explainability, and situation awareness are critical to ensure agents operate reliably, ethically, and in alignment with human expectations. WOA 2026 invites contributions from researchers and practitioners exploring the integration of trustworthy AI, cognitive computation, and human-centered intelligence in autonomous agents, aiming to define emerging challenges, propose solutions, and shape the next generation of intelligent and trustworthy systems. Topics of Interest ------------------ Multi-Agent Systems (MAS) and agent theory Human-Agent Interaction (HAI) and collaborative decision-making Software engineering for agents and business processes Process mining and socio-technical systems Coordination, cooperation, and communication in MAS Industrial applications of agents and MAS Agentic AI Trustworthy AI and responsible autonomous agents Cognitive computation and situation awareness in agent systems Agent-based Cyber-Physical-Social Systems Explainability, interpretability, and accountability for agents Agents integrated with Generative AI and Large Language Models Adaptive, personality-driven, and context-aware agents Multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning and learning under uncertainty Ethical, security, and socio-technical considerations in MAS Intelligent tools, sensors, and devices for human-agent collaboration Standards, interoperability, and formal models supporting trust and cognition Non-original papers on these topics that have already been published elsewhere are also welcome. They will be an opportunity for authors to disseminate their work at WOA and they will be presented at the conference, but will not be included in the WOA proceedings. Submissions --------------- Contributions (max 16 pages excluding references) should follow the CEURART paper style https://it.overleaf.com/latex/templates/template-for-submissions-to-ceur-workshop-proceedings-ceur-ws-dot-org/pkfscdkgkhcq Non-original papers published elsewhere do not need to be formatted using the CEURART paper style. They should clearly state that they are not original by adding "[Already published in ...]" to the title. All papers (original and non-original) can be submitted in PDF format. All the information regarding the submissions can be found at https://sites.google.com/view/woa2026/submissions Registration --------------- Attendance to WOA is free of charge, but registration is required. Further information about registration will be provided soon.
