Description: Proposals are invited for Perspectives on Netflix’s Ripley, the first edited volume devoted to the Netflix limited series Ripley (Zaillian, 2024). This collection seeks to explore the ways in which this adaptation reimagines Patricia Highsmith’s iconic character for a new era of streaming television. The volume is intended for submission to Intellect for their Television Studies series.
We welcome contributions from scholars, practitioners, and critics regarding adaptation, media studies, sexuality, and screen cultures. Possible themes include, but are not limited to: • Adaptation and remediation in the streaming age. • Streaming television’s affordances (bingeability, episodic structure). • Sexuality, queerness, and the articulation of desire. • Visual style, soundscape, and score. • Transnationalism, locale, and Netflix’s production output. • Class, mobility, and social performance. Submission Details: Please submit an abstract (max 500 words), a brief author biography (max 150 words), and 5 keywords via the webform above. If applicable, please include an acknowledgement of AI use. Deadline: 15 May 2026 Contact Info: Joy McEntee, Editor Email: joy.mcentee@adelaide.edu.au |
