Future Facing Learning 2027
Skills, enterprise and industry-linked learning: designing curriculum for an AI-enabled economy.

We invite submissions for Future Facing Learning 2027, bringing together educators, researchers, practitioners, industry partners and policy stakeholders to explore how artificial intelligence is reshaping curriculum, knowledge, expertise, professional identity, assessment and industry-linked learning.

As AI systems increasingly generate, organise and apply knowledge, higher education faces a fundamental challenge: how do we design learning that remains meaningful, adaptive, ethical and relevant in a rapidly changing world? This conference seeks contributions that move beyond incremental responses to AI and instead engage critically with the deeper transformations taking place across education, work and society.

We welcome conceptual, empirical, practice-based and research-informed submissions that address one or more of the conference themes.

Abstract Submission
Authors are invited to submit abstracts via EasyChair by 15 October 2026.

Abstract submissions may take one of the following formats:

Research papers, provocations or position papers: 300–400 words
Experimental sessions or research-informed workshops: 500–700 words
Tutorial proposals: 500–700 words
Submissions should:

address one or more conference themes
semonstrate clarity of purpose and relevance
provide evidence of impact, insight, or innovation
articulate implications for practice, policy, or further research
be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference.
When submitting, authors should clearly identify the corresponding author(s) and presenting author(s), and provide full institutional, organisational or company affiliation details for all contributors. All correspondence regarding the submission will be sent to the corresponding author(s).

Accepted abstracts will be published in the Science Open conference collection proceedings Future Facing Learning, with DOIs and authors invited to present at the FFL conference.
