Call for Abstracts
ICCC 2025 invites submissions to the 2nd Workshop on Social Reading Technology, which will be held June 23, 2025 in Campinas.

Description
Over the last ten years, there has been an explosion of interest in both social platforms for amateur authors to share their work, and natural language processing technology to assist authors in generating and editing their creative work.

WSRT is being organized to promote further discussion and collaboration on the intersection of these topics. The workshop will include contributed presentations and a group participatory-design task.

Specific topics within the scope of the workshop include, but are not limited to the following:
assessing the quality of long-form narratives
reader modelling in long-form narratives
detecting inappropriate content
all aspects of narrative generation using large language models (LLMs)
speech synthesis of long-form narratives
Submissions
WSRT invites the submission of abstracts on original, unpublished research, either in progress or completed. Each submission will be reviewed both for quality and suitability to the theme of the workshop. Full papers based upon presentations at the workshop may be included in a proceedings, if there is sufficient interest.

All abstract submissions must follow the style set out by the ICCC 2025 conference. They must not exceed 300 words.

Submissions should be made on Easychair in plain text or PDF.

Please note that the reviewing process will not be double-blind. The authors' identity will be known to the reviewers.

Participatory Design Session
Topic: an interactive arena for creativity assessment

With the proliferation in the number of generative AI systems for text, it is clear that there is a need to provide guidance for system designers as to what is working and what does not, as well as encouragement to follow that guidance. The lmarena.ai website has been a very good start, but it is confined to conversational QA and essentially provides no guidance to human judges on how to vote. We envisage a platform in which longer-text narratives, composed by either humans or AI, can be assessed according to multiple creative aspects.

This session will engage attendees in structured brainstorming activities in which we attempt to converge on a design that incorporates a multidisciplinary vision of creativity that mediates between writers' and readers' perspectives in appreciating creative text.

In fact, this kind of broad-ranging creative assessment could yield important insights into other modes of creative expression such as images, short videos and music.
