This conference aims to bring experts together to discuss the molecular basis of metabolic disorders linked to overnutrition, with a particular focus on understanding human insulin resistance.

Topics covered by invited speakers will include
-The potential roles of altered lipid metabolism (‘lipotoxicity’), hyperinsulinaemia, inflammation, adipokines and altered redox state in ‘causing’ insulin resistance.
-Insights from human genetic studies on the determinants of fat mass, distribution and metabolic disease

Short talk and poster abstract submissions are welcomed for this conference. Abstracts can be submitted after registration by the following deadlines:
