Call For Papers

The IEEE International Workshop on Information Forensics and Security (WIFS) is the primary annual event organized by the IEEE’s Information Forensics and Security Technical Committee (IEEE IFS TC).
Being the main annual event organized by IEEE IFS TC, the scope of WIFS is broader than other more specific conferences, and it represents the most prominent venue for researchers to exchange ideas and identify potential areas of collaboration. Focusing on these targets, the conference will feature three keynote speakers, up to four tutorials, a track of lecture and poster sessions. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

Forensic Analysis: Multimedia Forensics, Source identification, Channel identification, Computer and network forensics, Robust authentication, Counter-forensics

Watermarking and Data Hiding: Robustness and distortion assessment, Security analysis, Steganography and steganalysis, Fingerprinting and traitor tracing, Attacks and countermeasures

Security and Privacy Analysis: Signal and Data Authentication, Network security, Privacy protection, Anonymity, Computer security, Hardware security, Cloud security, Information theoretic security

Applications: Videosurveillance, Digital Rights Management, Content identification, Interplay of technology with legal and ethical issues

Cryptography for multimedia: Signal encryption and decryption, Signal processing in the encrypted domain, Cryptanalysis, Hashing, Authentication codes, Visual encryption, Side-channel attacks

Biometrics: Feature acquisition, processing and identification, Multimodal biometric systems, Privacy, authenticity and integrity of biometric templates, Biometric forensics, Attacks and countermeasures

Systems: Architectures, Protocols, Software, Hardware and devices

Submission of papers: Prospective authors are invited to submit full-length, six-page papers (formatted according to IEEE guidelines), including figures and references, to the WIFS Technical Program Committee. Papers will be accepted only by electronic submission through the conference web site. Accepted papers may be scheduled in the lectures track or in the poster session. Prospective authors are expected to present their papers at the conference.
Tutorial proposals: Up to four tutorials will be scheduled for the first day of the conference. The topics of the tutorials must be aligned with those covered by the conference. Prospective tutorial contributors are encouraged to contact asap the tutorials chair (tutorials@wifs12.org). See the section Tutorial Proposals for details on submission format.
