CCIS volumes are indexed in Scopus; EI Engineering Index; Google Scholar; DBLP; etc. and submitted for indexing in the Conference Proceedings Citation Index (CPCI), part of Clarivate Analytics’ Web of Science. **** SCOPE & TOPICS **** The sixth DEXA workshop on AI System Engineering aims to provide a holistic view that addresses the increasing need to interconnect traditionally separated disciplines such as data analysis, model building and selection, software engineering, deployment, legal aspects, and standards. In addition, there will be a focus on the Austrian FAIR-AI flagship project's objectives, emphasizing the development of trustworthy AI systems that are ethically designed and compliant with forthcoming regulations like the European AI Act. This includes focusing on AI risk management, trustworthy and explainable AI, ethical aspects of AI, sustainability, and climate neutrality, thereby strengthening the adaptability of the AI community to new legislative frameworks. Topics of interest include (but are not limited to) the following: - Bridging the Theory-Practice Gap in Machine Learning: Enhancing stability, reproducibility, and integrity by addressing limitations in current theoretical foundations and challenges posed by high-dimensionality in deep learning. - Developing AI Systems with Computational Constraints: Designing AI for embedded and neuromorphic systems, emphasizing energy efficiency and promoting Green AI initiatives. - Implementing Compliance Measures: Incorporating 'ethics by design', ensuring confidentiality protection, and utilizing federated learning to adhere to ethical standards and upcoming regulations like the European AI Act. - Ensuring Data, Model, and Software Quality: Establishing robust assurance practices and adhering to standards to maintain high-quality AI components. - Addressing Legal Aspects of AI: Exploring issues related to accountability, intellectual property rights (IPR), and compliance with legal frameworks. - Enhancing Risk Governance and Management: Developing strategies for effective AI risk management to prepare for and comply with new legislative requirements. - Promoting Sustainability and Climate Neutrality: Creating AI solutions that support environmental sustainability and align with climate neutrality goals. - Fostering Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Encouraging cooperation between diverse fields to address complex challenges in AI system engineering and overcome knowledge fragmentation. - Integrating Hybrid Intelligent Systems for Transparent, Compositional, and Trustworthy AI: Research on methods that combine symbolic knowledge, learning-based approaches, physics-informed models, etc., enabling explainable, compositional, and domain-aware AI system engineering. - Integrating and Orchestrating Multimodality: Design of agent-based systems for orchestrating multimodal AI models, including coordination, control, reliability, and integration into complex AI systems. **** SUBMISSION GUIDELINES **** In order to encourage participation and discussion, this workshop solicits two types of submissions: - Regular paper submissions about original work not exceeding 12 pages. - Short paper submissions on recent or ongoing work on relevant topics and ideas not exceeding 5 pages. *** SUBMISSION PROCEDURE *** Papers submission will be managed using EasyChair. If you have used this system previously for other conferences, you can use the same username and password. If this is the first time you are using EasyChair, you will need to register for an account by clicking the "I have no EasyChair account" button. Upon completion of registration, you will get a notification email from the system and you are ready for submitting your paper. You can upload and re-upload the paper to the system by the submission due date. Online Paper submission: (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=aisys2026). **** REVIEW PROCESS **** Submissions to the workshop must not have been published or be concurrently considered for publication elsewhere. All submissions will be peer-reviewed by, at least, 3 reviewers and judged on the basis of originality, contribution to the field, technical and presentation quality, and relevance to the workshop. Short papers are meant for timely discussion and feedback at the workshop. **** ACCEPTED PAPERS **** All accepted papers will be published by Springer in "Communications in Computer and Information Science (CCIS). Authors of all accepted papers must sign a Springer copyright release form. Papers are accepted with the understanding that at least one author will register for the conference to present the paper.
