Dear Colleagues,

There has been an emerging concern regarding the optimal decision-making in large-scale networks. In this book, we focus on the a wide range of novel distributed machine learning and optimization algorithms, and their applications in real-world applications, including but not limited to smart cities, healthcare, robotics, Internet-of-Things, power and energy systems, and transportation networks. To this end, we invite contributors from computer science, operation research, electrical engineering, civil engineering, and other related disciplines to explore distributed machine learning and optimization techniques, and control algorithms as well as their applications. These techniques can be applied to different real-world problems.


I would like to invite your abstract submissions for book chapters for the upcoming book, entitled “Distributed Machine Learning and Optimization: Theory and Applications”. This book has two parts:

- Part I: Introduction to Distributed Machine Learning Optimization algorithms for large-scale problems from theoretical foundations
Topics include but not limited to: distributed optimization, decentralized optimization, agent-based reinforcement learning, distributed machine learning, federated learning

- Part II: Applications of Distributed Learning and Optimization methods
Topics include but not limited to: healthcare, autonomous systems, cyberphysical systems, Internet-of-Things, smart cities, intelligent transportation networks, smart power and energy systems, critical infrastructures
