The International Conference on Computer Recognition Systems CORES will be held in Milkow, Poland, in May of 2013. It is organized by the Department of Systems and Computer Networks, Wroclaw University of Technology. This will be the eight edition in the successful series of CORES conferences organized every two years since 1999.

The CORES'13 Conference aims to bring together researches and to provide an international forum for the sharing, exchange, presentation and discussion of original research results in both methodological issues and different application areas of pattern recognition. The conference covers all topics in pattern recognition including, but not restricted to:

• Classification and interpretation of text, video, voice
• Statistical, soft and structural methods of pattern recognition
• Image processing, analysis and interpretation
• Features extraction and selection
• Machine learning
• Trends and relations recognition and analysis
• Data and Web mining
• Machine-oriented knowledge representation and inference methods
• Knowledge-based decision support systems
• Advanced signal processing methods
• Special hardware architecture
• Applications

A number of Special Sessions will be held to gather a strong collection of papers in the specialized topics crucial to the Conference themes. Proposals of Special Sessions, containing theme, scope of interest and short bio of the organizers, should be sent till 15 October 2012 directly to:

Conference Proceedings will be published by Springer.

According to the tradition of CORES Conferences the extended version of best papers will be invited to edited Special Issues in esteemed Journals:
