1st Workshop on Computer Vision for Biodiversity Monitoring and Conservation (CVBMC 2026)
Held in conjunction with ICPR 2026 in Lyon, France, August 21, 2026. https://cvbmc.github.io Scope of the workshop The CVBMC workshop aims to bridge the gap between pattern recognition and ecological preservation. We address the challenges of deploying computer vision in natural environments, such as camouflage, occlusion, and fine-grained categorization. We invite research on robust architectures capable of handling unstructured data for species identification, behavioral tracking, and holistic ecosystem monitoring. Topics of interest include: - Fine-grained species identification and classification - Behavioral analysis and spatiotemporal tracking - Habitat monitoring and remote sensing - Biodiversity metrics and population estimation - Deep learning for "long-tail" ecological distributions - Case studies in terrestrial and underwater conservation Submission guidelines Papers must be submitted through CMT: https://cmt3.research.microsoft.com/CVBMC2026 Please see our website for formatting details: https://cvbmc.github.io Proceedings Accepted papers will be published in Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS), Springer. Important dates Paper submission deadline: April 30, 2026, Notification to authors: June 5, 2026, Camera-ready deadline: June 15, 2026, Workshop date: August 21, 2026. We look forward to receiving your contributions and welcoming you to Lyon.
