Geneva, Switzerland
May 27-28 2021
https://www.augmented-human.com

The 12th Augmented Human (AH) International Conference will happen at the University of Geneva on May 27-28, 2021.

The Augmented Human (AH) international conference focuses on scientific contributions towards augmenting human capabilities through technology for increased well-being and enjoyable experiences. As in previous years, the conference proceedings should be published in the ACM Digital Library as a volume in its International Conference Proceedings Series (ICPS).

The topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
Bionics and Biomechanics
Exoskeletons and Super Human Technologies
Muscle Interfaces and Implanted Interfaces
Augmented and Mixed Reality
Brain-Computer Interfaces and Artificial Intelligence
Interactions between Augmented Humans and Smart Cities
Wearable Computing and Ubiquitous Computing
Augmented Fashion, Art and Tourism
Smart Objects, Smart Textiles and IoT Augmenting Humans
Augmented Sports and Serious Games
Assistive Augmentation, Rehabilitative Interfaces and Games
Alternative or Novel Feedback Modalities
Interfaces, Services and Applications for Human Enhancement
Augmented Healthcare, Quality of Life & Well-being
Human Augmentation, Sensory Substitution and Fusion
Holograms, HMDs and Smart Glasses
Hardware and Sensors for Augmented Human Technologies
Safety, Ethics, Trust, Privacy and Security Aspects of Augmented Humanity
Human-Factor Study, Field Study and User Study of Augmented Human Technologies

Submission Categories
Full papers: 8 pages maximum (including references), anonymized, long presentation (15-minute presentation + 5-minute Q&A)
Short papers: 4 pages (including references), anonymized, short presentation (8-minute presentation + 2-minute Q&A)
Demonstrations: 2 pages (including references), anonymized, demo at the conference
Posters: 2 pages (including references), anonymized, poster at the conference
Pitch presentations: 1 page (including references), anonymized, 5-minute presentation

Important Dates (All deadlines by end of day CET)
January 29, 2021: Deadline submission
March 31, 2021: Author acceptance/rejection
April 10, 2021: Camera-ready deadline and at least one paid full conference registration per accepted paper
May 27-28 2021: Conference at the University of Geneva

Submissions shall be made to the conference management system via the following link:
https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=ah2021

At least 3 double-blind reviews per paper will be done. All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. At least one author per accepted paper will have to attend the conference to present their work and each accepted paper must have at least one paid full conference registration.

Accepted manuscripts for all submission categories will be published in the ACM digital library. All submissions must follow the ACM SIG Proceedings template on this page: http://www.acm.org/publications/article-templates/proceedings-template.html
Among the various ACM paper templates, make sure that you use the “SigConf” version, i.e., use “sample-sigconf.tex” if you use LaTeX, and “ACM_SigConf.docx” if you use MS Word for preparing your manuscript. In addition, make sure that you use the 2012 ACM Computing Classification System (CCS) at https://dl.acm.org/ccs/ccs.cfm to choose CCS Concepts for your paper. For detailed instructions, refer to the CCS 2012 page: https://dl.acm.org/ccs/ccs.cfm?id=0&lid=0&nav=w

Demo submissions will need to provide installation information at the conference venue, such as spatial dimension and floor plan, lighting conditions (e.g., dim lighting, IR interference, etc.), sound conditions, number of participants that can be accommodated at the same time, time to install and uninstall, etc.

The poster session is a good venue to get feedback on early-stage works that are not yet published. The submission must be in the form of a two-page abstract. Supplementary materials, such as video clips are encouraged but not mandatory. The authors must bring an A0-sized poster to be displayed during the poster sessions of the conference.

Pitch presentations are well suited for industrial products, who want to showcase their product at the conference, have it peer-reviewed and published in the proceedings.

We encourage authors to submit supporting video material in addition to the PDF submission. Authors of all accepted papers will also be invited and encouraged to submit to the demo sessions. All accepted long papers will be recommended for publication in the Springer Augmented Human Research (AHR) Journal with sufficiently newly added content and a lighter review process than for regular AHR Journal submission.
