*** CALL FOR PAPERS SMI 2017 ***
Shape Modelling International (SMI) 2017
Berkeley, California, USA, June 21-23, 2017
Paper deadline: March 28 (abstract), April 3rd (papers), 2017

Shape Modeling International 2017 (SMI 2017) is the premier international forum for the dissemination of new mathematical theories and novel computational techniques for modeling, simulating, and processing digital shape representations. SMI gathers a wide community of researchers, developers, practitioners, and students in academia and industry. SMI 2017 will be co-located with the Symposium on Solid and Physical Modeling (SPM 2017) as part of the Solid, Shape, Structure, and Physical Modeling (S3PM 2017) International Convention. Conference proceedings will be published in a special issue of the Computers & Graphics Journal after a rigorous two-stage review process.
We invite submissions related to, but not limited to, the following topics:
• Acquisition & reconstruction
• Behavior and animation models
• Compression & streaming
• Computational topology
• Correspondence & registration
• Curves & surfaces
• Deep Learning Techniques for Shape Processing
• Digital Fabrication & 3D Printing
• Exploration of shape collections
• Healing & resampling
• Implicit surfaces
• Interactive modeling, design & editing
• Medial and skeletal representations
• Parametric & procedural models
• Semantics of shapes
• Shape Analysis and Retrieval
• Shape Modeling applications (Biomedical, GIS, Artistic/cultural and others)
• Shape statistics
• Shape transformation, bending & deformation
• Sketching & 3D input modalities
• Triangle and polygonal meshes

HOW TO SUBMIT
) Paper Format
Submissions should be formatted according to the style guidelines for the Computers & Graphics Journal and should not exceed 12 pages, including figures and references. We strongly recommend using the LaTeX template to format your paper.
We also accept papers formatted by MS Word according to the style guidelines for Computers & Graphics. The file must be exported to pdf file for the first round of submission.
For format details and LaTeX template, please refer to the Computers & Graphics Journal Guide for Authors.

) Double-blind review
The SMI 2017 conference will use a double-blind review process. Consequently, all submissions must be anonymous.

) Submission
An abstract should be submitted to the Abstract Form before Tuesday, March 28 at 23:59 UTC/GMT.

All papers should be submitted directly via the journal online submission system of Computers & Graphics: http://ees.elsevier.com/cag/default.asp. When submitting your paper to SMI 2017, please make sure that the type of article is specified as "SI: SMI 2017".
